Biiiiiig Ship

Time lapse photo sequence of the building of Maersk Line's biggest ship. At one point, the ship is floated, pulled out, and several ships pass through. Then the dock is drained, refilled and the unfinished ship is brought back in. I suppose the ships that moved out were being built "behind" the biggun? Got no idea.

At my job in the port I see these monsters come and go all the time.
They make an aircraft carrier look small!

I've just seen the smaller freighters that come in and out of Houston - they were plenty large, but not like this.

I would never have imagined that they would build it in sections like that. Very cool!
