Where Was I?

It's been quite a while since I've done one of these posts, mostly because I haven't been anywhere new. I have been through this town once some time ago, but it was coming home, east to west. Coming in from the west this time, I could really see the skyline to the south of the Interstate we were on.

This pic is obviously the north side of the same Interstate, getting ready to cross a major bridge over a major waterway. So, where was I? That ain't the Luxor, either.

I know the second one, only because I saw it myself just last Thursday. The distinctive structure on the left is an homage of sorts to the distant city's Old World namesake.

Well, if you are in our neighborhood, stop by for coffee.

Well, McGehee has it. I'll give a hint: the structure to the left used to host the local basketball teams and lots of concerts, etc., but it had a lot of problems and the city built the FedEx Forum instead.

It hasn't hosted any event since the late "oughts" and Bass Pro Shops is currently renovating it for one of their destination stores.

I don't recognize the location, but I can pretty well guarantee it isn't Breaux Bridge.

So what city was it, Jeffro? I'm going to feel like the old guy that I am if I've been there and no longer recognize it.

It's been a few years since I've been through there so I had to look up the name of the building. Your obviously heading east on I-40 into Memphis, TN. The pyramid right across the Mississippi is the Pyramid Arena.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, the interwebs were pretty finicky at the motel last nite both on their wireless and my tethering. I got disgusted and just went to bed.

Yes, Steve has it exactly correct!
