Man, it seems like this blog has been besieged with spam lately. Fifty or sixty spam comments are usually waiting in the ol' folder after twenty four hours. I don't think Feedjit or Site Meter are tracking them, but they do show up on TraceMyIP. Most are just the generic blast a bunch of drug names and a link, presumably where I can get fleeced thinking I'll be able to buy Ambien. Or maybe I'll really be buying Abmien or however they misspell it. Wonder what it does...
This kind of comment always makes me laugh:
You have made some good points there. I checked on the net for more info about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this web site. Here is my web page : pall mall cigarette
Oh yeah, butter me up with sweet talk, and slip that link in there. Only you forgot the link. And it ain't workin.' All the hard work your bot did is getting flushed.
Ha ha, mother*&^%r.

How bout that guy who gets all sanctimonious and invites you to follow his blog. I used to say no thanks; now I just hit delete.
Heh, know what you mean man-
Still, those spam comments will always rate higher than one which starts with:
"I'm Barack Obama, and I approved this message:"
Man, Please don't let the DNC read this, or they'll get ideas.
Add the old word verification function, maybe?
I have it set to wide open because the word verification sucks and the other way of having people log in wasn't working for certain people. Here lately the spam has exploded compared to what it was just a while ago. And I'd hate to move over to some other commenting system and then have them discontinue it like all those folks who had the precursor to Discus.
I haven't been hit too badly with spam.
Look at it this way, Jeff....If you're attracting the spammers, it means you have a popular blog!
Hah! Popular among the finest spammers!
Are you paying more than $5 per pack of cigs? I buy my cigarettes over at Duty Free Depot and I save over 70% on cigs.
