More Scenery
Another blurry pic through a buggy windshield. Spanish Peaks Mountains from C10 east of Walsenberg CO. I'm in Grand Junction tonite, and pooped. Cya later.
Nice to see your back out on the road again. I know you have probably told me before but where is your sleeper? All I saw was a crane. are you home every night? I see that there is a show about Greensburg coming on about how they are going to rebuild it green. Have you heard anything about this and is everyone happy about this? If it is really about helping people then it might be OK but I hope this is not just another way to force someones agenda on people. What have you heard?
Thanks Leah. Tim - I don't have a sleeper - we stay in motels all the time. I'm usually only out about two nights at a time. I've not talked to anyone in Greensburg that knows anything, but the local media is playing up the "green thing." If that's what they want to do, fine by me - if everyone is on board. I just don't know.
Bob - it's no worse than I70 from KS to Bennett or so. I80 in Wyoming west of Cheyenne is pretty bad wind wise, too.
I've lived here on The Poor Farm most of my life. Located in western Kansas, where the wind blows - supposedly the Dodge City weather station at the airport has the highest average wind speed in the CONUS. It would be the "sticks" out here if there were any trees, but I like it. I really like the spring - when it is calm, and the smell of the fresh wheat and other plants fill the air with a unique "green" smell. My real love is the fall, when the air is cooling and calm, when you breath the air it is like a drink of cool water. Speaking of cool water, my well produces some mighty good tasting stuff. It is hard water for sure - all the faucets have lime on them, but I'll take it over soft mossy smelling reservoir water from the city any day.

Rest well, nice pic even with the bugs.
