And remember this is kind of entertainment is what warped us all irretrievably so many years ago - all that gratuitous violence and all. Not like the healthy purple dinosaur and his ilk.
Not.
Warner Brothers had the best cartoons, end of story. Even as a small child, I could see that the Hanna Barbera (Tom and Jerry) were far more cheaply done. And I never cared much for the Mouse stuff. The Warner characters were all subversive, warped and derned funny. And no one, no one ever can match Mel Blanc.
This boy doesn't pay attention.

My favorites were *always* the Roadrunner and Coyote cartoons!
Mine is Bugs, but I love 'em all!Porky, Daffy, Pepe Lepew, Foghorn, Speedy, Yosemite Sam and of course Roadrunner and Wiley E.! One of my favs is the one with Sam Sheepdog and Ralph Wolf - both clocking in at the beginning of the day. Genius.
Yeah, Bugs was pure genius!
I always remember the once episode of the Wolf and Sheepdog where he finally caught the wolf, and was pounding him when the "quitting time" whistle blew. They both punched out, and the next pair that punched in took right over with the Sheepdog pounding on the wolf.
Just simply brilliant!
Yeah, you know what I've been doing the last twenty minutes - watching those old episodes!
It's gotta be the characters more than the backend crew: when Warner Bros. decided to go on the cheap in the late 1950s, Chuck Jones jumped to MGM and did a batch of Tom and Jerry shorts, which were properly insane but not what you'd call, um, Daffy.
Bonus points if you can identify the one classic Warner Bros. character whom Mel Blanc hardly ever did.
Roadrunner was always my favorite, but Marvin the Martian was a close second. After heart surgery I used those old WB cartoons as "respiratory therapy".
Chaz, I cheated but still not sure - probably Porky Pig?
classic, very funny.
