In Which I'm A Hopeless Nerd

link

I have been, and always shall be - your friend.

I swear, this scene undoes me every time. Say what you will about Shatner overacting, but here he shines. As does Nimoy - tugging at his tunic to neaten himself before his Captain.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The high water mark of all the Star Trek movies, as far as I'm concerned.

Definitely the best of the ones with original cast.
I remember seeing it at the theater, and lots of people were crying.
It still breaks me up, too.....

William Shatner is a respected Shakespearean actor in his native Canada. I think he overacted in Star Trek because that's what the role called for -- a larger than life character.

Yep, the best of the, oh 17 or so, movies they made.

I'm a huge Trekkie, and Mine Wife just does not understand. But she was a Twin Peaks fan, so I guess we're both whacked in our own way.

I've always wanted to get all the movies and watch them in an insomniac-inspired weekend with a huge bowl of hot wings, but that's never come to fruition.

Yet.

Ohhhh I am a closet Trekkie!! I absolutely loved this show, way to bring me back to my youth!! And for the record.. I became a huge fan of Boston Legal just because of William Shatner!!
