I couldn't leave the house yesterday until I'd seen this scene. I've read accusations that Pacino was over acting. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
It brought back a memory. When I was in court giving physical custody of my kids to their mother, the judge asked me if I thought that would be in the "best interests of the children." I calmly replied that their best interest would be to have father and mother equally in their lives. But I really wanted to give a response something like Mr. Pacino's character in the movie.
Maybe next time, if my friends on the internet keep offering such inspirational viewing. Oh wait, I don't ever want there to be a "next time" in court.
I think that scene was what won him the Academy Award.
ReplyDeleteHe was good in the whole movie, but that scene is one of the best ever filmed!
Thanks for posting this awesome speech!

I've never seen this movie, but after watching that speech, now I will make a point of it. Thanks Jeffro!
