As to Firefly - I never saw the series (you're right again) but not because of my constitutional aversion to TV shows; the reason is simple: I only keep basic cable, to get access to Internet.

Special kind of hell, apparently, is reserved not for those who have taken candy from a kid (or had sex with naive Miss Hendricks), but for Miss Hendrickses of this world, for faking that naivete...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7961111.post-35997646585946077262012-02-12T16:42:56.038-06:002012-02-12T16:42:56.038-06:00I take it you've not seen many Firefly episode...I take it you've not seen many Firefly episodes? I could be wrong, but you strike me as a person more likely to see a play than watch some reality show on television!

Ms. Hendricks appears in a few episodes as a con artist, and her "character" is from a culture whose naivete prompts Shepherd Book (a preacher on board Serenity) to comment that if Mal (the Captain) succumbs to her insistence on consummating her marriage to him, he will go to a "special hell" for taking advantage of her.

This is all before they find out her true nature - they were all taken in by her act.

As to me being a land based sailor with a port for every storm - well, I wish! Twenty or thirty years ago would have been fine, but these days, I'm like the ol' dog who finally catches the car he was chasing and can't remember what to do next!Jeffrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06873138122305060834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7961111.post-15120100273539680642012-02-12T15:47:21.347-06:002012-02-12T15:47:21.347-06:00why, exactly?
what's so especially sinful in ...why, exactly?
what's so especially sinful in fantasizing about incompatible Ms Hendricks (or other generously endowed women)? You are an unattached man, she is very unlikely will be in a position of being tempted by you (nothing to do with your personal qualities, I am sure - just unfortunate circumstances of geography and such)

Or maybe you don't tell us something - and it turns out you keep two or three simultaneous families in every port, I mean - in every state you cross in your Monster Machine?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
